STILL NOT SURE?

Frequently Asked Questions

I understand.

What exactly is the Return Home retreat?

It’s a 3-day wilderness retreat in Joshua Tree National Park designed to help you step out of the noise of daily life and reconnect with yourself, nature, and what truly matters. Through simple practices, reflection, and shared experiences, you’ll gain clarity, groundedness, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Who is this retreat for?

It’s for professionals, leaders, and seekers who feel stretched thin or disconnected, and who sense they need more than another book, Zoom call, or conference room. If you want a breakthrough in clarity, energy, or direction, this is for you.

Do I need prior camping experience?

Not at all. You’ll need to bring your own tent and sleeping bag, but we’ll support you with clear instructions and a community spirit. The retreat is designed to be simple and accessible, not a survival challenge.

What’s included in the cost?

The $495 fee covers your campsite reservation, group meals, guided practices, and retreat facilitation. You’ll be responsible for your own camping gear and transportation to Joshua Tree.

What kinds of activities will we do?

Expect a mix of group conversations, solo “walkabout” reflection time, light movement/meditation practices, and evenings around the fire. The focus is not on doing more, but on slowing down, tuning in, and letting nature itself guide the experience.

What if I’m not very outdoorsy?

That’s okay. The retreat is designed to be primitive but comfortable enough for anyone willing to unplug for a couple of days. It’s less about hiking miles of trail and more about being in an open, natural setting that supports reflection and growth.

Will I have phone or internet access?

No—cell service is limited to nonexistent in the retreat area. That’s intentional. You’ll have the rare chance to be truly offline and present.

What should I bring?

You’ll get a packing list ahead of time, but basics include: sleeping bag, sleeping pad, tent (optional if you don't mind sharing one), flashlight/headlamp, water bottle, folding chair, clothes for desert weather, and an open mind.

How many people will be there?

We keep the group small (8–10 participants) so that everyone has space for both solitude and connection.

I’m intrigued but a little nervous. Is that normal?

Yes. It is normal to feel that way at first. Think of it as a threshold experience—stepping into something unknown that can open new possibilities. The retreat is designed to support you in exactly that process.
